Lunch is served...

I love feeding my little friends during lunch hour in the island. The menu is the left over toasts from breakfast time...just look how fast they gobble up the pieces of bread.

Penyu

I was quietly minding my own business in the bathroom when I heard mom calling my name.."what is it now...can't she just let me play for a while"...apparently afafa called and informed her the babies are here!!! Yes..the first batch of  baby turtles just hatched and I can't wait to see them! So we hurried to the nesting place and there they are....82 little turtles crawling around!!! They are soo..cute...uncle awang found them crawling out and informed afafa. I wanted to touch them..but mom didn't let me..said the babies are too fragile for my handling..(sigh).
We went home after uncle awang put the babies inside the pool...I preferred to stay longer but mom was getting irritable as she hadn't had her shower and it was already 8.30p.m. I'd better follow her home...
Afafa came with us and informed a turtle was sighted at the beach near the spa area...told us we had to wait till she laid her eggs. Wow...I got to watch a mommy turtle!! She's big and huge and she laid 125 eggs....and I managed to touch her!!! (afafa let me just before she went back to the sea). It was really great night for me...

Roots 1

This is my grandmother's house in Melaka. The house has been around for generations..afafa said the house is about 100 years old or more..wow..My afafa was born and grow up in this house many many years ago. There are a lot of fruit trees around the house...I particularly like to eat the rambutans and afafa would pick the whole lot of them for us to eat. I love coming home to afafa's kampung; there are lots of things to do, places to go and people to meet (although sometimes I'm not too friendly). My afafa loves it here but most of the time we could not stay long as afafa has to work.

Turtles are back...

I just found out from my last visit to afafa's work place that the turtle season is back...I just love turtles!!! I remember from the last season we went to watch the turtle laid eggs...it was as big as a table! The eggs were brought back to the resort (they have a little sanctuary there) and buried in the sand. After two months I could see little turtles coming out of the sands...well...sometimes they came out with 'little help' from unseen hands!!! The babies were kept for a while in a big pond so they get stronger. What I love most is when the turtles were released back to the sea...it was such great feeling to see them crawled back to the sea (to think that they were brought to the shore but can still find their way to the water). I just love turtles and can't wait for this season's new babies...
